LOVE the truss rod wheel!

Just some praise for the ease of use of the truss rod.

Basically, my 2011 Ray H has been used for a good few gigs, and rehearsals. Its my 'goto' MM.

As its turned very cold here, the neck has had a little movement, to be expected.

So, last night the frets were VERY close to the strings, and creating buzz etc.

It played fine at the gig. I didnt have the 'truss rod' diagram with me and had no wifi to check the internet for which way was 'raise the strings'.

Got home, got the diagram on here, small screwdriver. 1/4 turn, then a tiny bit more. Perfect. No messing. Took seconds.

Awesome innovation.

I didn't used it so far on my rex, TR is still factory tuned, ...but next week will be first restrung with fresh set of Coated Slinkys, so will see if would need any correction!

Just slapped new EB Flats Group IIIs on, action is now perfect.

Finally had chance to take the guard plastic off and the barcode off the back!

+1 for the wheel. it's one of those little things that reminds you of how fantastic the total package is, from the super tight build of the instrument to the absurdly awesome customer service, community, and support.

but golem is right, gotta leave that bar code on- it's like a mattrass tag...

WHAT IS IT WITH THE BAR CODE THING?

I had one of Dave LaRue's basses here at the Camp for a couple of days - bar code sticker was unreadable, just plain white, really, but it was still on there. I also have Sterling's first Bongo 4H that he gigged with a lot and - yep, bar code sticker intact.

leave them on! however, i leave them on and still suck, but fear what would happen if i removed them... end of the world? ability to play only poison covers? who knows...

That's probably why I lost my 25th HSS, took off the barcode as well as the plastic with the knob instructions.
Oh well, hindsight is 20-20 at least, now I know better thanks to this thread.
And yes, the wheel is genious!

I kept the barcode lol! It is in the hardcase...didnt realise they would come off so easily...and its not all sticky either so you can keep it and put it back on!

First gig with a Ray with Group IIIs last night. Sounded HUGE! Much more meat to the tone...the strings are higher tension than the stock strings, but im 'manning up' and they feel great. Nice medium action....no fret buzz whatsoever.

Should I call CS for a replacement barcode. I only buy used basses and none of them have come with a barcode. Thank God they came with a truss rod wheel!
