Just fitted a set of extra slinkys to my hardtail AL.

So now some of my guitars have 9's the JP has 10's and now the 8's.

Enjoying the experimentation now where's 11 on my Marshall? ;)

The feel is light to say the least, but bending/vibrato is a doddle and I'm liking them

I have too many packets of 9's to make the transition to 8's.

I haven;t played it at a REALLY high volume but what I'm hearing so far is all good.

I mean, if you have a few guitars on stands it makes sense to have a choice of gauges.

I may consider using it live soon!!

Spud, yeah I've always liked lighter gauge strings too, but 9's are the norm for me. However, I'd go down before i'd go up. As far as the tone, well, in my opinion it's not that significant for me to give up the "looser" feel of the skinny strings. I don't like the feel of too much cable under my fingertips.

Oh, by the way, my Marshall goes up to 11!! Now, quck quiz: what Marshall do I have??

Well I am liking the 8's - still not played at full volume yet and wonder what the tuning stability will be like.

Try taking out the .008 and the .038 and putting on .009 and .040. You will have the best of both worlds--been doing that with my EB Pure Nickels for years.
