I actually had to raise the action on my SUB1 when I got it because it was a little too easy to play. I don't like heavy strings and high action or anything like that (I use 9-42 w/ medium to med-low action), but I do like to have a little resistance when I play-- plus I need to be able to get under the strings for those big bends, and I can't do that with super low action.
I also use Dunlop Delrin 2mm bass picks, too. I don't have the lightest touch in the world, but it's not heavy handed either... any lower than "medium-low" and strings be a rattlin', even through the amp! I've got them set at medium action right now and it's perfect.
