Yes, but it won't sound nearly as good as it would if installed by EBMM on a Luke...

Well I kind of figured that. :D I'm just itching to tinker with something. Wonder what a pair of 85's would sound like in a Sub?

Part of the glory of having the Luke Pups is having a Luke. It just won't be the same without that sexy neck.

And for the record, a BFR Luke sounds even better than a regular Luke. I was amazed.

Been there, done that. :D

The sound is different from that of the Luke, and not as good, I think. Although keep in mind that your mileage may vary; one man's "good" may be another man's "great" or even "awful".

I actually went back to the stock pickups. I think I have a love-hate relationship with EMG pickups. :(

Texas Finally!
If you are interested in Luke EMG set, get a Luke:D

Now if you want to experiment with the SUB, try a set of Zakk Wylde EMG it is an 81-85 set, I put some in a guitar that i no longer own and must say quite impressive, and realy not difficult to do.

to answer your original question : yes it fits a Strat (I mod mine with this set) add a chance to compare both Luke and mine side by side

Though pretty close, the Luke sounds better and the neck is just awesome. But a strat equiped like this is IMHO a nice solution to get close to the sound of the master. Keep in mind this set of pickup is quiet and an excellent solution for recording

So as a cheap solution to start this will do the trick :)

You guys don't have to convince me. I already have a brand new Luke only 30 days old made in 08. I guess the question was more about how difficult it would be to install. It would be fun for me to take on a guitar building project or tinker with one of my F***** guitars or my Sub. Since the Sub isn't getting any love now. I wouldn't be trying to make a Luke equivelent guitar, just doing something different to make some guitars more interesting.

Not quite what you're asking but...

About 5 years ago I put a set of David Gilmore emg's in my strat after I got a luke and loved the tone.

It was SUPPOSED to fit right in, but required a bit of dremeling around the jack cavity.

The guitar sounded fantastic with the new pickups but I still found it so much harder to play than the luke that I haven't played it in over 4 years.
