Hi all Luke 1 owners,
Does anyone have any experience with trem stoppers?
I'm looking at ways of aiding string changes. I'm usually one to remove all the strings, in order to do a good fret polish & fingerboard clean, but keeping the floating trem block in position whilst all the strings are removed can be a real pain, and at present, that involves stuffing a bit of sponge into the trem cavity which isn't ideal. So I've been wondering if a trem stopper of some sort will aid the process. I'm happy with the bridge in normal use, so I don't need one to 'stabilize' the trem block, it's fine already. This is purely intended a string changing aid. Any thoughts?

Craig,

If I was going to remove all of my strings for cleaning I would get a large pencil eraser, (the pink ones that kids use for school), and place it in the cavity to keep tension. I have also heard that a deck of cards works as well. FYI, I have never done this so ymmv, These are just suggestions I have I've read about to be honest.

Good luck,

Tom

Thanks Tom,
I've tried a few things like that, namely a small block of wood, etc. It seems I'm not alone there. Those methods just seemed a bit 'heath robinson' and I wondered if there was a better alternative out there. Worth an ask.
