Hi,
I am considering buying a Luke 2 HSS. I found one from 2002 without compensated nut and one from 2005 with compensated nut.
Both of the guitars are black and are in mint condition.
Which one of these would be better? Is the older one more woth than the other?

Thank you for all the advice. :)

Hi there! Welcome to the forum!

Other than the compensated nut there is no difference between them. The older one is not worth more. Personally, I will always choose the compensated nut, it's just better. If that's not an issue for you, I would suggest you choose based on overall condition, especially fret wear.

Which ever one you get, please come back and post photos of the new guitar! :)

Buy both, compare them for 2 months and sell the one that loses. Only way to be sure :)

Since they have identical body shapes you can even set up blind tests with friends.

or post picture of both here with zooming into neck/frets and we will have a voting :) I don't think there is any significant difference. I play the compensated and non compensated nut and there is no real life difference. Unless you are recording, guitar is always slightly out of tune. E and A are not gonna sound both perfectly good anyway so do power chords lol... But I am a guy who never used clean tone in his life :)
