I would like to get your views on an issue with my Luke, which I bought just under a year ago.

The body has a half inch lacquer crack at the neck pocket, I know this is a common fault, but there is a gap on the topside between the neck and the body that I can fit a piece of paper down easily. I have other guitars where there is no gap at all, I have only just noticed this and I am concerned that the wood has moved/expanded??.

Does anyone else have the same issue?. If the guitar needs attention what is the procedure for returning guitars in the UK?.

Apart from this potential problem, it is still the best guitar I own (better built than my EC Strat!).

Thanks

Julian

I have a couple of Luke limiteds with piezos and my 3 week old radiance red one (I have a envy green also) is on it's way back from Ernie Ball after the same problem you speak of. Jon and Dan (service dept.) say there are steps they take to insure it doesn't happen again. My neck pocket was so tight there was not room for a hair to get in there before. Personally, I think that a tight neck pocket is a good thing but Dan said it can actually be too tight and it can cause paint problems occasionally. I guess you could say they build them 'too good' at Ernie Ball. I'll update later after I get mine back. By the way, I paid shipping there and they pay shipping back so you will be out shipping one way.

LALALALALALALALALALA....I'm not listening.

After a 5 months and counting wait i certainly would be highly peeved having to return the guitar and losing another few months of playing. Is there any way of knowing how much a guitar is likely to suffer this at purchase? Because I've been looking at the Suhr guitars website and drooling a bit of late....
