Hi
I bought a stunning luke BFR about 4 years ago with amazing neck, it was the only guitar that felt better neck wise than my Ibanez JS1200 CA that i own . sadly i sold it because of the pickups

lately i tried some new L3 guitars but all of them felt not the same in the neck , it feels bigger chunkier fatter

are the specs of these guitars the same or they have change ?

Is the new L3 BFR having the same neck like the old one ? because i would love to buy one now with the passive pickups as long as the guitar neck specs didnt change

this one i sold out sadly, really sadly תמונה 056.jpg תמונה 072.jpg

The specs on the necks are the same but they are sanded by hand so there could be very slight differences one to the next. The bodies have slightly different specs with the Luke 3 being a hair bigger.

Hi AJ

Thanks for the answer

I tried 2 different new L3 not a BFR , and in both of them it felt chunkier , i cant explain it if you says the necks specs are the same.

i thought already to buy and old used BFR again, and just to change the pickups to the new passive ones......

or i should try the new L3 BFR which i havent yet ?

A lot of people who own multiple similar EBMMs will tell you the necks can feel different. But as AJ said, the neck specs for the Lukes did not change. It may just be that you remember our old BFR differently. If you had it side by side with the others they may feel more similar than you recall.

My Luke II and LIII neck profiles are vastly different. The Luke II neck is chunkier, with a bit more shoulder to the v. The LIII neck is a lot more like a Luke 1, very sleek, and more pronounced V. They're all great though, so whichever model you get will be immensely good!

I've played several Lukes and I've found the necks to be incredibly consistent. Nothing chunky about them at all.

But as was stated earlier, hand sanding the necks can lead to variations.

Maybe your BFR neck was sanded on a Monday morning as the worker was napping and it ended up too slim?

I keed I keed.

I was under the impression that the Luke II necks were supposed to have more of a pronounced V shape to them... however, I find it the opposite. My LIII had a really distinct V to it, really narrow at the nut, whereas my Luke II's neck has slightly less V and doesn't seem as skinny either. It might all be in my head, but when I unboxed the II, I had an expectation in my mind of how the neck was supposed to feel, and it didn't feel quite right. Still plays amazing...

Thank you all for the answers .

i belive that you ppl are right , but i can bet my head on that i felt the differences , maybe i got lucky and i got super BFR Luke ,but the neck felt out of this planet, so easy... so fast .... and that didnt happend again since than . i really hope to fall again on super Luke like the old one , the problem that there arent much of them here in Finland or Eu, each shop can have one or two BFR maximum so its a difficult situation anyway.
