Fellow knuckleheads

I need your help. I'm currently clearing out my strats to make way for another EBMM to sit alongside my Luke.

Question is this. I love single coils but really fancy the new 25th. Am I going to get good enough single coil sounds from 25th or should I stick with my Luke and upgrade to BFR?

Thanks for your help guys, it's much appreciated!

If you need/want true single coil sounds, the 25th won't do it for you. The split sounds, however, are nice.

Paul,

You certainly are going to get "good enough" sounds from the 25th, however it may or may not be the sound you want.

However, changing out pickups is part of the fun with all guitars. It's easy, inexpensive and provides a big variety of sounds.

My advice is to pick the "guitar" you want and have fun with pickups later.

:)

The 25th is great. HBs in parallel sound very nice, but they're not going to replace your single coils. So if that's what you're after, I'd stick with your Luke. Though it's nice to have different guitars for different sounds ;)

If you like single coil, id actually get a luke with Piezo first...and then get a BFR.

Unless you can do both at the same time!

Really the piezo is like having a secret weapon.

That said...Luke was getting an amazing sound on the 25th he played on the recent gc tour. He looked weird playing it though.

I just got my 25th today and MAN is that a hot axe!

I'm mostly a JP kinda guy, but the 25th gives it a major run for its money and beats it hands down in some respects. The TONE is just unreal and it can do anything.

If I could only have one guitar at this point, it would be a 25th.
