Hello, everybody!

Well, the time has come that my Luke III HH olive gold all rosewood neck needed a refretting. I took it yesterday to my luthier and will take the opportunity to refret it with jumbo frets in stainless steel. Did anybody here try it with the Luke ? It will be ready by the weekend and i am really curious to see how it will be.

Both my LIII PDN Neptune came with stainless steel frets that are definitely larger than the standard LIII frets - I'm guessing Jumbo and they feel great!!

I purchased it brand new in the original box, in April 2013. I practicing till february 2014 about 4 hours every day (including weekends) and 4 days in the week in the church for about 1 hour.

I previously asked my luthier about the need of nut adjustment and he said there would be no need. I wish i can trust him, hummmm...

I'd be a little concerned with your luthier saying that to be honest. Don't see any way that you can put higher frets on and not have to adjust the height of the nut. Not unless they are very minimally higher. You might be able to get away with it if they are just a tad higher than the previous frets, but I'd be surprised.

Yes, i will need to check it. He is a guy building and repairing instruments for many of the great players here in my state, so i think he knows what to do. But who knows...

I have to say, that i loved my guitar very much, nothing to complain about. But i am very surprised that this guitar could get even better than it was before. The jumbo ss frets brought up more volume, clarity, sustain (it had nice sustain before, but now i see big difference, increasing sustain playing clean), tapping became easier than ever, and it did add a little bit of high frequencies, very very little difference.
I am very very satisfied !!!

we have just refretted #1 w/ stainless steel. very very happy w/ the results. and frankly we were quite surprised.

That's good to hear, my Morse is fairly new but went in for a little work on the nut. I get it back next week. I've got about three guitars with stainless steel 6100 and I'm seriously considering re fretting the Morse when it's out of warranty.

If you don't mind me asking, what size stainless steel went in #1 ?
