Ok, This is just in case some of you missed one or the other. I hope you guys dont mind but I am very honored and think it speaks volumes for the crew at EB/MM. I wonder how many artist as important to the guitar posted in the competitions forum!!!!!???

Heres JP's from the Jp proto thread:

Hi everyone. I have a minute here in the studio and I thought I'd drop a line and let you know my thoughts about the latest JP design. First of all, a huge thanks to Sterling for never straying from his original commitment to me which was to build me the ultimate guitar, the ultimate tool and not stop until it's right. You are the best! Also, to Dudley and Drew, thanks for all of your hard work in making this guitar...the many different protos and phone conversations. You are both truly artists in this field. Let me also start by saying that I still love my current JP model and will continue to play it and stand by it. So, on to the latest model... First of all it's an absolute work of art and is brilliantly crafted. You really have to see it in person to fully appreciate how stunning it is. I started tracking with it yesterday, and the combination of alder with the mahogany block and maple top, along with the mahogany neck makes for the best sounding guitar I've ever heard. The guitar rings like a monster stirred from a deep hibernation with the full sonic spectrum being resonant and in your face. As for the design changes, my idea was to take the current model to the next level as far as hot rodding. Think of it as a Petrucci muscle car/guitar. The change in the bottom horn and slight body and contour changes all have to do with fret access and technique facilitation. The pickup rings were added for aesthetics and flexibility and present no problems for me. Anyway, I can go on and on, but there's my initial reaction to the guitar after having it now for 24 hours. Thanks for all of your interest, passion and support for this guitar and Ernie Ball!
All the best,
John Petrucci

Here is Luke after getting his Dargie Delight on the heels of gettin the tone block/maple Luke proto:

Guys.. the photo's do NOT do this gem justice!!!! This is THE coolest looking guitar!! I dont have the adjectives to describe what this looks like in the sun. The birdseye is even, dare I say.. nicer than the falmetop which is a whole other rave as its beauty is also one of a kind!
This just shows what most of us know..Music Man is THE finest guitar on the market in my opinion!! Certainly nothing new can compare. The feel of this thing..it is so solid and so comfortable and it plays and sounds amazing. I am playing the sh*t out these new guitars. You know how a new guitar inspires new ideas..
I will be playin these next weekend and will bring them to Texas so those of you that are gonna be there can dig it in the flesh. MASSIVE thanks to Biffer, Dargin himself, Dudley and Bri!
I am not worthy!!!
Thanks Sooooooo much!!
Lucious

BP,

As always, it is amazing to see who turns up at this forum. I noticed that none of your signature artists asked for sparkles! ;)

I can't wait for my Dargie Delight, *and* the souped-up Petrucci... and the EB Wah, for that matter. I'm buying all of them!

You folks at EBMM are making it very difficult to miss out on any one of your cool new creations!

Oh hell yeah.

Nice to hear that the Famous Guys agree with the Not So Famous Guys.

Luke! Come to the bass forum! We are so much cooler than, um, you know, that other forum.

I will say this...as interesting as this year has been, I suspect that next year is going to be....well, more interesting.

Kudos to Dudley, Jon, Drew, Scotty, and the rest of the crew that actually makes it happen.

Awesome BP! and yep, it does speak volumes about your crew. But like we all know, in any company setting, the attitude/service of the employees always flows from the top.

oh ya, and Lucious.... please do come on over to the bass side once in a while :p

Very nice... This no-nonesense access to staff, artist and information is exactly what makes EBMM head & shoulders above the rest. :D

Sweat on the board

Fingerboard that is!
Man.. I cant put these guitars down! Granted I NEED to practice as I am playing with "the cats" next weekend but none the less, FAN-F*CKINGTASTIC!!!
Even my wife thinks they are way cool and she is NOT a muso. She puts up with me but thats a whole other thread. hahahaha
I cant wait to dig JP's new rig.. and his guitar too. hahaha
If you are reading John, best to you and miss ya girlie man!
Oh by the way, I LOVE Bass players. I am an honorary Bass player. After all I DID play Bass on Beat It. for real. hahahaha It was REAL challenge.. NOT! hahaha.
I am off to see the first showing of Jackass 2 with my son and friends. Full report to follow and then tommorow off to Oakland to judge the Guitar Player Magazine "new guitar hero's" event with brutha Satriani and a host of others that have not been told to me as of yet. No doubt these little f*ckers will have chops from hell. I wonder what chops will be like in 20 years?? How much deeper and faster can one go? Warp speed? I am SURE somewhere there is a fetus that not only plays like Stevie Ray but has the chops of speed racer on crystal meth! Scary isnt it. Maybe it comes down to who can play the slowest?? THAT would be interesting. I LOVE flash and I am a hambone myself but with guys like 'Trucci around it makes it harder for us old guys to keep up.
have a nice day and I will check in soon.

I wish you could find it in your heart to open up a little and tell us how you really feel about these instruments. It's so hard to read between the lines with you.

Mister Luscious, you are one fortunate human to have your Dargie Delight so quickly. The rest of us, we mortals, are waiting until February - worth it, of course, but hard nonetheless. I had the extreme good fortune to finally spend some quality time with a 30th Anniversary Stingray and I had no choice but to purchase one for myself. Had to have one, so it's on the way and I'll have something to scream about shortly!

Even my wife thinks they are way cool and she is NOT a muso. She puts up with me but thats a whole other thread. hahahaha

My wife, also most certainly NOT into this whole scene, also thinks the Martini Motif instruments are groovy.

I was just getting ready to tell you that my respect level for you has fallen a bit with this "Beat It" bass news, but then I started thinking about how many bazillion-selling records I've played on and I reconsidered. But for one serious moment, how did you end up playing bass on that?

Wait.. he was talking about a recording?
:D :D

Lucious, do the martini glass inlays give the Dargie any extra mojo?
Also, it's really cool that you're involved in scoping out some up-and-coming talent.
