Luke mod

Hi I've been lurking around the forum for sometime now and have never posted. I thought this might be post worthy though so here it is. My Luke modified with passive pickups Dimarzio area 58 neck virtual vintage middle and Andy Timmons bridge. It sounds great what do you knuckleheads think? (I also included a family shot )

looks good man... i ve been thinking about changing the pickups on one of my Lukes.. did you have any problems changing from active to passive??

the only problem was the dimarzios didn't fit in the emg spot so i had to trim the plastic on the pickup but it does not effect the pickup at all

Do u think it's possible to swap the neck and middle pickups and leave the bridge Emg???

It's definitely possible. I've had a guitar with both active and passive pickups but I wouldn't do it again. It's just too much of a difference.

Welcome! You have a nice collection and your modded Luke looks great!

I did a similar mod. Dimarzio AT-1 and Area 58s too.

FYI, if you order the single coils from Dimarzio, you can request them without a flange and they will fit without modification.

someone have trying with SD LittLe 59 for single they haven't the flange or other mini bucker ?

Thanks everybody I think it sounds better than it looks. I will try to get some sound clips up at some point. Nice to know that Dimarzio will make the pickups without the extra plastic I will keep that in mind incase I decide to do my BFR Luke
