I normally hate EMG's but on this guitar they work for now.
However when my new Luke arrives I'm thinking of yanking the EMG's from my current one and going for a more vintage vibe.
It is Alder/Maple w/Rosewood after all. Classic wood combo.

Anyone else do this?

I think the stock EMGs have a nice vintage vibe to them. This guitar gets great jazzy tones to full-on shred with one instrument (plus the optional piezo acoustic). Unless you desire the vintage noise you'll get from old single coils. The SLV's seem much quieter than most singles I've tried. I played my Luke today for about three hours and spent time with all five pickup selections. Jazz, blues, rock - its in there! Plus, the 85 can scream.

Lucidology switched out to other models of EMGs and liked the results. I guess EMGs are real easy to swap out too. Search his post to see what he tried. However, I really like the stock pickups and won't change my Luke.

Don't get me wrong, I do dig the p'u's so far.
The s/c's are very impressive.

I'm just an experimenter and figure when the new one arrives it'll stay stock.
The one I have now will probably get something interesting.

Oh, the vintage noise isn't a problem with the p/u's I have in mind.
But I do understand your point.

I installed a set of Seymour Duncan Classic Stack Plus's [noiseless] in the neck & middle position, and a Custom/59 hybrid for the bridge [humbucker] = Awesome! They drop right in like they were made for the guitar at the factory. I also installed a blender pot where the tone pot is, to blend in either the neck or bridge pickup, whichever is not selected by the 5-way switch: * 1 (bridge): blender blends in the neck pickup
* 2 (bridge + middle): blender blends in the neck pickup
* 3 (middle): blender does nothing
* 4 (middle + neck): blender blends in the bridge pickup
* 5 (neck): blender blends in the bridge pickup

It really is very versatile and sounds Fantastic!

Though not in a Luke, I love the combo of Dimarzio HS-2 in neck and middle and Dimarzio EJ custom in the bridge.
