Luke w. Floyd Rose

Hey guys,

I have the opportunity to buy a mm Luke I with a Floyd Rose bridge.
Problem: I would have to drive a few miles testing it and I don't know how this guitar sounds, because I only know the Luke II.

Can someone explain me the differences between the Luke I and II concerning the sound?
What about the Floyd Rose: I heard it doesn't sound that good on this guitar.

I, for one, prefer the original Luke... But I do like Floyds, when I'm in an '80's mood. The Gotoh Floyd is an excellent sounding unit (IMHO better than the OFR) and they just stay in tune! From the bridge PU you'll get pretty much the same tone, but the single sized EMGs were changed... and I prefer the old ones.

First EBMM i ever bought was an original luke 1.
I literally drove for hours to test it... I went in completely blind, having seen no pictures and having only recieved a vague description from the owner.

The axe needed an epic clean but was simply amazing...

I agree 100%...the gotoh floyd is an excellent unit - had no dramas at all.

Sound wise... over-all i would say a fraction hotter.
Bridge pickup is quite similar... but i would say the single coils definitely have a fraction more bite.
This is one extremely versatile axe...

There are a couple of people on the forum chasing them at the moment so if you decide not to go ahead with it, please post details for the others benifit.

I can't say a bad thing about that model.
