hey guys.

I'm going to change the string gauge on my Luke from 9 to 10s and i've got some stupid questions  .

What do you guys suggest regular Slinkys or Skinny top/ Heavy Bottom?

What string gauge do you Luke player have? Do you have the bridge floating or next to the body?

I use to tune down the lowest E string to D on my others guitars quite often(drop-d tuning?), but that is impossible with a floating trem right?

for my side I use 9/42

What a wimp  ;)
Just kidding mate, if 9's made me play like you I'd use 'em too .......
Just can't get away with anything less than 10's, much fuller sound and better tone IMO !!

I use 11-50's on my Luke, and yes Dropped D tuning works just fine with the floating trem. I keep my bridge floating as it is more comfortable to me than having it flat. I stay's in tune just fine like this. One other note, you might have to file out your nut slots just a tad to use the larger gauges.
