Has anyone tried EB M-Steel 10-46 on the Axis or Axis SS? If so, what were your impressions in general? And specifically, about the tone. Did it change the tone?

Thanks.

I tried 9-42 my axis w rosewood neck and 10-46 on my ASS PDN Neptune Blue MM90.

Axis results: I lost some clarity down low... sounded a little fuzzy. I pulled them off after a week.

ASS results: Amazing! Fuzzy, fat and glorious! Still on this guitar now!

Summary: I think the additional signal gained is not a good match for the Axis pickup... but for a more vintage/single coil... it can enhance noticeably.

Thanks Flash. Sounds like my experience: Had 9-42 Paradigm's on Axis SS...didn't like...removed after a couple of weeks. Have M-Steels 10-45 on Cutlass (which it also came with) and love the sound. As you pointed out, could be a single coil vs humbucker difference.
