Hey guys,

I just put another downpayment on the ASS I'm buying, however I was wondering how hard it would be for me to clean the neck myself.

I have little experience with tinkering with guitars..I usually just do a little soldering here and there and sometimes block a trem for a friend or two.

I was also wondering if anyone else found that plastic tip of the pickup selector on the ASS fell off a lot..I guess I'm somewhat aggressive in terms of how hard I push the selector but it always seems to pop out when I try it at the store~ I was wondering if that's true for the majority of the Axis guitars that are out there of if it's a minor defect of some sort.

Thanks for reading~

For the official info check out the Q & A section on the Music-Man website. I've used the search function here also and have come up with a plethora of info.

It's very easy to clean the neck. The hard part most guys have is finding the gun stock wax and oil.

yes the plastic tip of the pickup switch does fall off alot! I fixed mine by putting a thin layer of scotch tape on the naked tip of the switch, before putting the plastic tip and it hasn't fallen off since.

As for keeping the neck clean, I wash my hands before playing guitar and after playing I wipe the neck with a dry cloth. :D

Amazon.com sells the wax and oil. I just bought some today to put on all
of my guitars including my Ibanez's.
The wax is $6.04 per bottle
The oil is $12.08 per bottle

Plastic tip: had my sport since 1998 and the tip has never fallen off. Played several Super Sports in the time since with no problems... however, its a plastic tip and anything can happen. Have you tried replacing yours?

Cleaning the neck: washing hands before playing helps... wonder wipes work really well to.

What are wonder wipes? I've never heard of them before D:

And about the switch.. It kind of flies across the room when I play it at the store. It's the same with the rosewood ass too~ I wonder if it's just some wear from the many people who played it? It's been on display since last December~

Wonder Wipes are a product made by Ernie Ball specifically for care of the unfinished necks... they really are quite handy for normal cleaning of the guitars neck. Click on the products tab at the top of the forum and check them out, they are fairly inexpensive and leave the neck feeling so nice when done.
