Music Man really messed this up and did a disservice to the fans of both Music Man guitars and John Petrucci. Only 50? They all sold out quickly. Why not just make this a year long model? I've long supported Music Man guitars but this leaves a sour taste in my mouth. I didn't even get a chance to order one.

Sold out per above.

What a bummer. I hope the MM people read this. They had to have known this would be a hugely popular model. To make it super exclusive is just stupidity from a business sense. Good for the folks that grabbed one as they will have something that will retain value. All of us other supporters of the brand kinda get the finger in all of this.

Then you figure that probably a few of those guitars will be retained by whatever shop owner was lucky to get 1 or 2. So, the amount that get in the hands of the general public is going to be a bit less than 50 which makes the situation even worse.

This has me so aggravated that I might not even buy another MM guitar after this.

Well I like the limited models and limited quantities. Makes them unique and rare. If you want production models built in the tens of thousands just get a F or G

Most of mine a pretty limited/rare, a couple one offs, but to each their own

Sometimes it is just luck and it sucks when you can't get the one you want. I have been looking for a Luke 4 Steamroller for the last 6 months. Finally found a BNIB from AMS and grabbed it! Amazing guitar! I think it was one of the only ones left out there.

I wouldn’t really call it a blunder. The fact they are sold out means it was actually quite successful. If you would have secured a guitar you would have 0 complaints. Guaranteed. You would feel like one of the lucky few. Which is exactly what MM was going for.

I understand the frustration but, perhaps this can be your holy grail guitar and you can buy it for 10k once it hits the resell market?

Me personally? I’m hoping that once the custom design experiences becomes available for majesty models they allow an option for the majesty inlay on the 12th fret just like it is here. That would appease many people who missed out on the offical 10th anniversary. Select a gray color and boom you have your 10th year anniversary. Minus the pu covers of course. Which to me, may not be too bad of a deal. There may be such a thing as too much branding which that model tip toes on IMO

Kinda a ridiculous conclusion to no longer buy MM guitars over not securing a limited run. They could have made it a one off just for John and then what? The logic just isn’t there. If they delivered a garbage product with 0 support then I could see one shying away from MM but their product is amazing as is their CS. Be well dude. Don’t let this ruin your day.

Not only scalpers are going to pierce another hole in people really wanting the guitar...

But what a miss finish wise... Most petrucci models got timid finishes compared to other modern brands (thought sterling tried more daring veneers), with the 20th and spice mélange things were on the nice track.

Jp said he thought of a metal color? Make it chrome like an ibanez js ffs! That would have been a killer

Maybe JP actually likes understated guitars? I know people who LOVE metallic and people who LOVE solid bodied guitars. You line up 5 guitars, and it doesn't matter how beautiful they are, some will choose FIESTA RED every time. Some love BLACK.
