Hi,

Just got my Majesty 7 a week ago and had to do a few setup things such as string changing, adjusting the action, truss rod, and intonation. In doing so, I believe I have got everything set up. As of yet, I have a few problems that I need resolved. First of all, my 7th string will not intonate perfectly. I have achieved a near perfect intonation with strings 1-6, but have not been able to intonate the 7th string properly. The 7th string will be too sharp at even the farthest back the saddle can go. Another problem is the tremolo. My strings are constantly going out of tune if I even attempt to use it. I know they are new strings, only being a few days old, but at what point will I be able to expect them to settle in? Or what can I do to help fix this? I have an action ruler as well as Nut Sauce, if that will help anything.

Thanks

Use the nut sauce everywhere you can. Nut, saddles, bridge posts, even where the springs attach to the bridge block. I've taken the little spring that is between the saddle and the bottom of the bridge and cut it so that it is smaller on some guitars before. It allows you to go a little bit farther on a note that is reading sharp for intonation purposes. Just a thought.

This is a new guitar? You shouldn't need to go to great lengths to set up a brand new guitar unless you're changing string gauges.

Give the Customer Service guys a call and ask them about the intonation issue.

Yah, I'm going to give them a call later today. Hoping I don't have to ship it out, would really suck to be waiting on my guitar for another week or two, but if that's what it needs in order to be fixed then so be it. The guitar had been sitting at a dealer's location for around six months, unplayed and unused. I'm wondering if that had any effect on something as it was pretty much unusable out of the box being that it buzzed like no other and was not intonated. Thankfully though, it is still under warranty for eight more months or so.

I can't help with the 7th intonation problem but with the others you could simply try stretching the strings; grab each one and pull it away from the guitar a few times or alternatively, tune each string a couple of tones high, one at a time, leave it for 30 seconds and tune back to normal pitch.

Just a thought; is the trem plate parallel to the body or lifted up at the back? If it's pointing too far forward, this may explain why the 7th string saddle has run out of adjustment. Tighter trem spring adjustment will pull the whole thing flat and mean all the saddles will move back; this may allow you to intonate the 7th but you will have to do all the others too!

+1 for stretching the strings. Pull up on the trem and hold. Do this several times after each changing of the strings and they'll bed in quickly.

Ended up working with Customer Service. Tried checking the saddle springs and a few other things to no avail. Had to just send it to them to see what they could do about it. No matter what we tried, the 7th string would not intonate properly and was about half of a half step sharp with the saddle pulled all the way back.
