My AA batteries had been in my guitar for a while so before work I checked them with a Radio Shack battery checker I keep in my stuff. It has a green arc, small yellow arc, and a red area. This particular type battery tester will check various different types of batteries. Button, AA/AAA, 9V, etc. Last night my batteries checked at the low end of the green so I looked for the flashing orange light during and after each set. I found it. I replaced the batteries on break and ran them through the checker again. Just below the green. I have found my rule of thumb. Hope this helps others.

Don't know if weeks would be a suitable unit of measure. I will try to keep track of hours this time. The game changer FAQ says should be good for 100 hours. To your question: I play the guitar every day and work four to five gigs a week. The last batteries lasted about five weeks.

Definitely, that's very helpful. I may still give it a shot if it lasts that long, changing them out every string change shouldn't be a hassle.

Thank you!

Hi guys, I'm reviving this thread so as not to start a new one about the same topic. I've had my Majesty for about 2/3 months now and I suspect (only on a time basis) that the batteries will die soon. I've read that once the batteries start to go, an amber light starts flashing at the back (on the battery compartment). The question is, have any of you Majesty owners experienced any low battery symptoms (unwanted distortion on the clean channel, etc) before the amber light started flashing? Or does the light start flashing before there's any audible change to the sound?
It'd be great if the CS guys could also chime in with any info they may have, thanks a lot everyone!

I haven't experienced any symptoms prior to the light but I have missed the light. I don't THINK it stays on long before battery failure. Every set is important to me so I check the battery condition regularly and change batteries early. I don't wait on the light.

Thanks a lot for your answer KEOKI! I don't play nearly as much as you do, so I estimated the batteries should last between 2 and 3 months (based on your 100-hour estimation). So, when I believe they're close to their end, I start looking for the amber light each time I plug the guitar in.

While I was searching for an answer on this, I read on the Game Changer FAQ that, once the light starts to flash, you've got 3 or 4 hours left of play time before they die out. However, I don't know if this translates to the Majesty as well, is that 3/4 hour window consistent with your experiences?
Thanks again!

Not any more. Just too heavy to deal with. Great amp. That's why I keep it. It comes with all the tobacco, beer, and whiskey stains that come from years of hard use. It is in my home studio where it gets exercised often. Thanks for asking. (Glad the amp can't talk too !)

I am also having the same issue. I have a brand new "pile" of AA Duracells and with several new sets I am getting the amber light and fading/distorting signal. Tech support closed today :(

Are you unplugging the guitar when not in use? MM support has told me except them to last an average of 6 months - but then again, that depends on hours of usage.

What does 'average' mean? Based on use by the average player? Let's say the average non-pro Joe gets in three hours of playing per week = 12 hours per month, so 6 months = 72 hours, which is three days if left plugged in.

I understand your frustration. Just remember that EVERY brand of guitar has it's share of returns and that's why they all have customer warranties and distributors to deal with this. FWIW, Thomann (one of the world's biggest online guitar dealers) says that Music Man's return rate is less than 0.1%, which is way below the industry average. You really are just the unlucky one out a thousand.
