I wonder what are the uses that you give to the boost??? So far, when I'm playing clean it is very noticeable but when I'm playing distortion it is barely noticeable tonewise and I feel that it adds some dirt to the sound.

Not that I'm bashing it, but what is the idea behind it?

In my opinion/experience, it sort of replaces the need for a clean boost pedal or even a tubescreamer - it basically is meant to make your guitar hit the front end of your amp harder so you can go from a mild overdrive to full-on with just a tap of the knob rather than tap dancing with your feet.

It's interesting to see the effects it has depending on the level of the volume...

Yup. Easy to add some clean boost for soloing when you have a distorted tone. The cleaner the original tone the more dramatic the boost.

I must admit I had to figure out useful ways to use the boost in my normal 'for hire' work. One way is to set the boost level so it compensates for the drop in output when switching to center position, split coil mode. (Vol P/P-UP, Tone P/P-UP).

Great idea, I always battled with those levels and that way I can solve it.

I love the soloing boosts!! Or when there's grit but you need something a little extra is fits the bill... it's also adjustable.. great little feature... wish all of mine had that......

I am interested in installing this booster in my MM and I wonder how it compares with Majesty's. Could you evaluate comparing the sound in this video with the booster in your guitar? Thanks.

That is exactly what any boost will do when used before distortion. The volume boost is most apparent with clean tones. As you increase the distortion, the volume boost decreases but in effect you are increasing the gain instead. High gain distortion is by it's very nature highly compressing so any increase in volume when using a booster is minimal, and in this case your guitar's basic tone does not change, but you will get extra gain and sustain.

The boost for me is exactly what others have described - a replacement for the boost box on my board (for more extreme hammer-on/pull-off passages), a clean tone boost for those types of solos, and as a balance for the coil-tapped, center position pickup selection. It does a much better job for me than any of the boost boxes I've ever used, as I want my tone to stay almost exactly as it is with an increase in gain and compression. The boost function on my Majesty accomplishes this perfectly.

I never use the boost on my Luke 3, I keep forgetting its there!!!

Need to leave myself notes on the stage to remind me it is there to use!
