i don't know how to start my history but well, all my life i was using ibanez guitars now i'm using Jem but i really like J.Petrucci then i decided give a chance to MusicMan so i bought i Majesty but is giving me a pain in the ass. i am afraid but i dont 100% sure i am having the dead spot, and big issue with my sustatin in the G string at 12th fret, the note died so quickly.
I bought this in Ikebukuro Keyland store japan at 円290000($2800 american dolar) used and i know is not cheap guitar but is giving me a headache.
Two weeks ago i went to the keyland shop to send the guitar to Kanda shokai who is the official import company to find some solution, today i recieve the call! my guitar is back but when i went to the shop to sound check nothing was changed, the sustain of 12th on G string became worst and more worst is they changed the height of action and the neck was curvy and they want 円4200($40) for did nothing.
i told them what could the problem but my japanese skill is not that good so then sending back to kanda shokai again and let we see what will happen.
i am getting tired and getting stress, i not rich to buy an expensives guitars as i wish so i thinking to give up then close the my story with MM guitar.

Welcome to the forum. It's pretty hard to diagnose problems over the Internet. If you don't trust the shop, email the EBMM customer service folks (link is in my signature) and they can try to help you out. Please be patient as it's a long weekend.

thank you for the welcome beej

Before to open this thread i did email to the custom service the answer wasnt to much clear to me

"Thank You for playing Music Man!

We encourage you to have it seen by a qualified tech. A good start is taking it back to the official dealer.

Although I am not a qualified tech, here is some info:

- If the dead spot is caused by uneven frets this can be remedied.

- If the dead spot is caused due to the natural reduction/cancelation of specific frequencies due to the woods unique natural interaction with resonant frequencies then there is less that you can do; the opposite scenario is referred to as "Wolf Notes" and these are louder because the wood naturally amplifies that specific frequency. Some people claim to successfully shift the dead spot between fretted notes (so they never have issue) by adding mass to the headstock with a product like .

International Sales/Customer Service "

The guitar is still in kanda shokai who is the official dealer for MM guitar in japan.
Now after one month of waiting the fix sudden dead note on G 12th fret i am goint to the shop where i bought to check it. Wish me good luck then let see what will happen.

well.... the end of story did not finished well. they reconize the dead spot but they want do nothing about this saying same excuses that all guitar have this problem, btw i was using all my life ibanez guitars never had this issue.
The shop "solution" offer to me re-buy the guitar 40% less price from original price. almost the guy almost was laughting in my face. So i say "f¥&k it" then i will go to Consumer Protection in this country make a Complaint/report and carry on. I will sell the guitar by myself aware this issue to end my short walk in MM guitar.

I'm sorry this is such a bad experience for you, but don't blame Music Man. Every brand of guitar has a small percentage of warranty returns for a variety of issues. EBMM is no exception. For those of us outside of the US, part of the extra price we pay is cost of the regional distributor who deals with the stores when warranty issues arise.

If you have a valid warranty claim and the store is not respecting their legal obligations, keep at them 'till they do and yes, do talk to you consumer protection people about your legal rights. They may even be able to contact the store on your behalf.

Good luck!

Yes -- this sounds like an issue with the store where you purchased the instrument NOT EBMM. As others have stated, if this is an honest issue which is covered under the warranty, EBMM will help you and fix the instrument for you.

As an owner of a Majesty for almost a year, this guitar outplays anything I've owned. This past summer I found it is tempermental with weather changes where I live, but a few on the trust rod and it's good as new.
