I'm not talking about fret buzz. This noise is coming from down near the bridge. It's a fast rattle/vibration sound.

So my guitar has been making a strange buzzing sound and I have had it happen in two different places. It first happened on the 14th fret of the G string which it no longer does. Now it happens when I hit the big open E string. It can only be heard when the guitar is not played though an amp.

A screw or something is loose. Possibly a saddle height adjustment screw? Those little resonance vibrations can drive you crazy (and are sometimes impossible to diagnose accurately over the net). Amazing how there are not that many things on a guitar that can shake or rattle but they'll drive you nuts trying to find them! :) They can even seem like they are coming from one part of the guitar but be coming from somewhere else. Use your finger as a dampener probe and see if the noise vanishes when you touch something.
