Can anyone tell me what is the neck thickness (at 1st fret) of the Majesty?
It is still not available in Europe and I can't find this information in the specs on EBMM website.
6 months ago I opened a thread on this forum asking for neck thickness of JP guitars. Some members answered that after the JP X, the neck thickness was changed to an incredibly low 14-15 mm at 1st fret. For that reason, I decided to postpone my purchase (was interested in a JP XI or XII at that time) and wait to see if the Majesty would come back to a more standard neck, or find a used JPX.
You can read this thread by searching on the forum with my pseudo.
But your reply is a very good news to me, I can now restart my search for any JP model actually (quite rare to find in shops in France...).
I thought my Jackson Soloist SL1 USA had a fast neck with amazing 24 fret access and wonderful tones coming from its humbuckers. It seemed like it would always be my go to guitar (and I have some other real good ones).
Well, that has changed. Majesty reigns supreme in my house now
I can' compare with old JP models (my first question above is still valid...), but what I can tell you is that yesterday I compared a Majesty with a BFR Koa of 2012. Both necks are the same. The figures given by Willy above are correct (I measured it, from back of the neck to fretboard, so fret excluded).
For me, comparing to my main guitar that was so far a Strat, yes there is a huge difference in feel. This Majesty neck has really something great.
I hope this helps, and if anybody can make a comparison with old JP models that could be great indeed.
And by the way, the Majesty is really a wonderful instrument. I just bought mine (a used one - the owner didn't like it so much fortunately for me- , that still smells like fresh from the factory) yesterday so I can't give a constructive feedback, I'm still in the honey moon phase ;-)
