I know I'm late to the 'Tiger Eye' party, but I've had a few Maj's and JP's through the years, and may pick one of these up. Aesthetically, I know the deal. It's hot. Sound wise, especially on the 7 string version, anything that separates it from the other Maj's with the different wood combo? I"m just really curious.

I used to gig with a JPX around 2011. Loved it, but the five way drive me nuts. I have been scouring for a JPX1 , while I currently have a Maj 6 Artisan and JP7. The JP7 will be outgoing for the Tiger Eye

Yeah, tell me about the 5-way switch. Real deal-spoiler on an otherwise AMAZING JP model. Real pity it didn't come out with the classic 3-way switch.

Back on subject. The Tiger Eye and the Purple Nebula have the same cocktail of wood that the JPX and JPXI have. Alder, mahogany and maple top. They are heavier than the basswood Majesties, same way the JPX and JPXI is heavier than the JP12, JP13, JP6, JP6 etc. I can assure you of the weight but as far the sound goes I guess you'll have to listen to them for yourself.
