Ok. So, I decided to record some of Damage Control by John Petrucci. Firstly, I am more than aware that I am not JP, so it isn't gonna sound anywhere NEAR as good as his. Secondly, I learned the majority of this whilst recording it, so it's recorded on the fly if you will! Also, most of the leads are mainly improvised, with some of the phrases from the actual solos thrown in there.

Don't be too harsh, I know it needs major practice, and I know there are some absolutely fabulous players on this forum!

man "you have something that appears to be a dynamite sound" :D I really like your chunky and lead tone. It has some JP flavour to it but still you've got your own personality.

Very nice playing. You are aware of the mess ups so it's all good.

Thanks man. I'm very aware of the mess ups - they stand out a mile! I'm gonna work on a refined version I believe later on, or in the next few days.

Love the lead and the lead tone. What are you using to get that? ...an amp, Podxt etc...? Could you post the settings or the patch? Thanks

Thank you nocluejimbo and glockaxis!

The tone is coming from a v-amp! Settings are...

Modern Hi Gain, Cab 15

Gain 8
Treble 8
Mid 8.5
Bass 5
Volume 6

Then I just added some delay. The rhythm is the same settings, but without delay and a little less gain.

You got me beaten to a bloody pulp

It might have a few wonky notes but if that was live you'd be proclaimed a god!!!

Very nice indeed!

I make twice as many mistakes in stuff that I think I can play well!!!

Thinks....Perhaps if I buy one in Graphite Pearl I'll be able to do that too???:D
