Say - there is a growing interest in Mandocellos, not just in the acoustic realm, but also the electric world. Why doesn't Ernie Ball jump on the bandwagon?

Eastman, Dammann, and Weber are offering some great looking and good sounding acoustic mandocellos right now. There are only a couple string makers out there - is the "D" word acceptable here?

As for electric solidbody mandocello players (like me), I am making do with Ernie Ball singles - but that's really expensive! I'm paying over $20 for 8 strings, 6 nickel wound, and 2 plain steel strings.

My local music store suggests that I buy 8 string guitar sets (the D word, again) - but I have to buy 2 sets, and I end up with 4 strings from each pack that I'll never use. Not cool.

Please give a shout out if you need strings for your mandocello, and would like Ernie Ball to get in on the action.

I play mando and use the EB medium mando strings

WHERE on the EB website? HUH?

When I called them on the phone 2 weeks ago, the guy didn't have a clue what a mandocello was.
All he could tell me was to "post on the forum".

What has that got me so far?

Nothing. Other than two gauges of 80/20 bronze mandolin strings, EB don't cater to mandolin family of instruments. That's not their market, that's just how it is. Bringing attitude with you here won't help. Got it?

The great folks over at Mandolin Cafe include many Mandocello players. They'll help you find strings if find need more options.
