Maple Neck/Fingerboard for Morse Model?

I've read the FAQ and searched the forums, and I understand that EBMM doesn't offer replacement parts unless there's a defect in question. Having said that, I'd like a maple fretboard on my Steve Morse signature model guitar.

Would I be better off having a one-piece maple neck made from scratch, or having someone replace the fingerboard and frets?

Can anyone recommend a luthier or custom shop for this kind of project?

Thanks,
Spencer

There actually was one for sale on eBay some months back- someone had replaced the fretboard. Looked interesting.

I see pros and cons both ways, and cost is certainly a factor.

Big question is: are you going to resell the guitar later? If so you might want to keep the original neck for resale and have something built. Going from scratch, you have a lot of options. Might be able to find something suitable at Warmoth, for example.

Did anyone happen to download a photo of that Morse?
I tried the link to E-bay and the photo was gone.

Cheers,

I didn't grab it. Y'know, if the link to the Auction is still there the seller/buyer might be able to shoot you a photo. (Just convince them you're not going to be running a scam auction :p)
