I modded it. I traded a Gibson SG Classic for it. I really wanted a Axis but couldnt afford one. Its a 1990 6 bolt,(one of forty, twenty coming to the UK,thanks again 5stringer.) hard tail ,ash Silo. I like Tele's and didn't have one at the time. Because of the maple, ash and string through body,I thought I would convert it. So the sacrilege began. I cut some plastic I had at work into a pickguard, fitted USA Fender pups and a MIM bridge I had in my spares and drilled the bridge to fit the Silo bridge holes. No damage was done to the Silo body,no routing or extra holes. It worked perfectly.Tele tones, but with all the feel ,playability annd comfort of a Silo.

After using it for a while, I decided to keep it like a Tele. So I cut another guard, fitted SD 54 bridge and Fender 52 pups along with a Wilkinson compensated 3 barrel bridge. I really like it, but if I could have afforded an Axis it probably would not have happened. But now its my No 1.

Thanks guys. You cant buy one,but I still have the white pickguard and drilled Tele bridge . They fit straight on and no holes or routing are needed, so theres no damage to your silo'a body. There were no takers last time in the Tele/Silo post. But they are free if you want to them .Just post a pic when they are fitted. If you dont like them, offer them to another forum member.
