Funny. Just when I wanted to ask whether anyone's using them, it pops up.

I'll most probably get one after I sold one of my SWR rigs, and replace the SWR GrandPrix and Stereo 800 combo. Less weight, less space, more power and probably even better sound  ;)

Is the effects loop switchable from parallel (50/50?) to serial? Peter Murray said somewhere on the forum it was parallel, but I couldn't find any more detailed info on it. By just looking at it, it's impossible to tell... also, is the EQ completely behind the effect return?

Would be great if you could check out and provide some info. Thanks!

The loop is switchable to serial. I also didn't know how to do that, since I bought my F1 without a manual, so I wrote a mail to Mark Bass. They were so kind to send me a manual as PDF and there's a detailed explanation how to do this. You just have to change two jumpers. It's pretty easy.

The EQ is after the RETURN and you can also switch the DI-Out Pre/Post-EQ via a jumper.

What speaker combinations are you guys using with the F1.

I'm looking to buy an F1 - played through one a few weeks back in a jam session and the sound was really nice with an SR4 - however it was connected to a Warwick 4x10 cab.

I'm thinking of using 2 Mark Bass 2x10s (one a Traveller) for larger gigs and 1 2x10 for smaller ones. Anyone got experience of how this works out? The alternative for me is a 4x10 and a 2x10 Traveller for larger gigs - not so easy to carry though.

Tried one of these today at a dealer. Brought a long my rack with SWR GrandPrix & SWR Stereo 800 & SansAmp RBI and the DD SR4. Played the F1 through a MB CL410 and compared to my SWR rig. There was not a lot of difference, except that the SWR rig sounds a bit "more clear", but that is due to the slight treble boost that the SWRs do even if you set the EQ to flat. The F1 sounded absolutely killer and the EQ is very spot on. This amp is extremely loud! I also put the SansAmp RBI in the FX loop of the F1 and there it was...

... instant LOVE!!!

I gotta get one of these, ASAP, or better, ASAICAI (As Soon As I Can Afford It) ;)

The first MarkBass gear I ever tested was a F1 through an Ampeg 410HLF cab...it sounded very very nice. I couldn't believe how loud that little head got. I tried several basses through it, Fender P-Bass Deluxe (single coil bridge pickup), SR5, Ibanez soundgear 5'er, Bongo4, SR4, MTD Kingston, and a Marcus Miller 5. My favorite sound (obviously) was the SR5 and then (believe it or not) the P-Bass. Oh yeah, I ran the F1 flat.
