Just got off the phone with the GC in Dallas. No MarkBass in stock. I know there is gonna be stuff to try out at Jack's shindig but really wanna get my hands on the little 12" combo they offer. Anyone know how I can get my hands on one?

Tom,
I think you must have talked to the wrong GC. The one on 635 just got some stuff in last week and as of Saturday they had it all. I can swing you by on Saturday morning if you want to go check it out.

Paul,

larry and i were talking about making the trip and I called GC to make sure it wasn't gonna be a waste. It was the GC on 635. NorM and I made the call. We even asked about other stores in the area and was told that "nothing had been recieved yet but was slowly trickling in". Funny choice of words. Go figure.

So either friday afternoon or saturday morning works for me. I'll have to talk to you and Larry to organize something.

You must have been talking to a guitar player or something, there is quite clearly a wall of Markbass in the bass quiet room. Unless I was high, which I wasn't, I am pretty sure its all there.

Heck they even have over 10 MM's to use to for trying stuff out. This GC also has an LE Albert Lee and an LE JP on hand to occupy NorM if necessary.

And if he was high, he got that way after I left his apartment Saturday. :D

Oh, and I drive an Acura MDX. We can put up the back seat and have 7 people in it if we need to.

I dont understand what is going on wit hall the bandwagon jumping for markbass... a couple months ago all I heard about on these forums amp wise was GK.

I've played mark bass also guys. The weight was extremely impressive. But that wouldnt factor much into a purchase for me... other than that the tone is only good... it is comparable to other high end amp manufacturers. The price is horrendously high.

Whose jumping on the band wagon. I just wanna try the little 12" combo out. plenty of power to compete against a drummer and small enough to cater to my life style. If I don't like it, I'm movin' on but I haven't found anybody offering anything like it.

I was a big GK pusher a while back. I loved the stuff and I had a GK deal. GK works well with EBMM. In the end, it wasnt exactly what worked best for me.

Wonder why people are jumping on the MarkBass bandwagon? Hmm, maybe theres something behind that, like they are great amps.

For you the tone may be "only good", but for what Im going for, and what I want to hear, the MarkBass is THE best amp Ive played. Out of all the GKs, Edens, Ampegs, Traces, Mesas, Euphonic Audios, Aguilars I owned the MarkBass takes the cake for me.

Hightly priced???? Show me another 500 watt amp, thats not in a companys budget line that sell for $599 new (WITH a 2 year warranty) that even comes close to the Little Mark II.

It's cool maddog, I wasn't pointing fingures or trying to sound disrespectful... It is just the vibe I got.

Word of mouth is the most powerful form of advertising... If a friend tells you a certain items rocks. You want to try it, I understand.

The KC GC hasn't gotten Markbass.

We can talk in Dallas Tom.

I don't believe I will have time to go to GC this weekend.

If one ever gets to Kansas I will probably have to ask a favour of someone in a place that counts.

Can it really be called stealing if you take an amp and leave the money for it on the table?

didn't take it that way. Just explaining my position. Once I hear it, my mind will be made up either way.

Will a GC in Dallas ship to my apartment in Tucson? ;)

Tom, we may have time to drag your butt over to GC. I gotta find out what the best plan is with Larry and Paul.

The funny part is I am bringing along my Peavey practice amp so I can play in the room if I can. :)

It is a nice combo that gets loud Tom so if we don't find a Markbass that works for it you goes to AZ right away.

Tom, they are light enough that if you can buy now you could fairly easily travel with one.

You sure have.

The great thing for me, is that where all of those amps fell off and left me wishing for more of this, or less of that, the MarkBass has dealt me exactly what I was looking for every single time Ive plugged in. All the amps I listed aboive have been good or great. The MarkBass has been extraordinary. Ive yet to use and and not be completely satisfied with what I was hearing.

I have no desire at all to even consider any other amps right now. When/if I do, itll just be another MarkBass model.

The MarkBass amps are to me what EBMM basses have been for me over the last 7 or 8 years. The standard for me, that Ill judge all others by.
