Hey Guys,
How do you run your SR's and Sterlings EQ's? How would you describe the distinguishing characteristics of A SR or Sterlings tone? I'm used to a Jazz Bass and Rick tones.

my favourite way to run them (using a clock to describe what im talking about 6 is the middle point) is treble 7 mids 8 bass 9. pick up selector on single coil. piezo 100% it give me a twang but with some bass its really punchy on the high notes.

I have a maple fretboard so generally I run it with the highs cut a little, and sometimes just a smidge of bass boost. Nothing drastic though.

SR5 back position on the switch. TI flats. Treble cut, Mids boosted to taste. Bass on the detent.

As for comparing it to a Jazz. Well the EB is on steroids. Got it and stronger.

The can no longer play without my sound.

MM is best sampled live with a band , IMHO.

EDIT,

Alright, I jsut wanted to state that MM's still do and always have sounded Amazing on their own. The thing that really counts though is how it sits in the mix, and MM's get along reall well with a good tune.:):)

So you don't use the magnetic pickup at all? I love the piezo on my Bongos but I can't stand to use just the piezo on my fretted bass. It's way too clangy.
