My guitar is Ernie Ball Music Man Axis Super Sport. It sounds very powerful and huge, neck is incredibly smooth and ergonomic, but there's one problem that I need a word of advice for: whenever I use tremolo arm, third ( G ) and sixth ( E6 ) string goes 'bout 1/4 step UP of its regular tune. I use EB Regular Slinky strings, and all the other strings stay in tune except G and E6. My tuners are locked as Hell, the nut is original, factory-built, and it still happens and pisses me off during every f....n' gig. I've bought the guitar at authorised dealer's shop.

Have you, good people, some advice for me?
Thanks in advance!

Kizonni.

P.S. Please, excuse my Tarzan English. I'm from Serbia, y' know...

bring it to your local guitar shop if you have one.... cause the string level on the locking nut might not be even enough so when it pushes the strings down there is too much space, if you know what i mean(bad at explaining) :( lol oh well, thats what i think is wrong... good luck :)

Kizoni,

Yes, nothing is more frustrating than that!!! Don't "throw" that guitar!!

It's not the strings and the tuners are probably fine too, if there is no space. Even with nut clamps you DON"T have to clamp those nut clamps more than just firmly snug!! That's not the problem.

Aside from neck movement or nut/saddle (string) snag/slide, then this is your problem.

The trem plate is not returning to rest/sit as it was, after you use it.

Check it our for yourself!! See where it is at before and after you use the trem.

Remember too, when you trem "dive", in a split second the neck flexes straight out (truss rod force), and then when the dive is over it goes back to tension again. All in a split second.

So, check and make sure truss rod is working ok.

If that happens because of the truss-rod, how come all the other strings stay in tune, except G and E6? Same question for the tremolo plate! And how come these two strings go UP, instead of DOWN, wich is usual thing after using tremolo arm...? I don't now what the problem is...

These thing rarely happen uniformly on the whole guitar. Take it back to your dealer or call EB customer service (Lord knows those guys are beyond amazing) and it'll get taken care of.

I took my guitar to the dealers shop, and repairer put a tiny amount of graphite on the nut. It seems to be okay right now. I 've kicked the Hell outta tremolo, but, somehow, the guitar stayed in tune. I'll keep watchin' and let everybody know the results in few days.

Thanx A LOT!!!!!!!!!!!!

For example in this instance:

1. If the truss rod DOES NOT bring the neck back to the exact alignment it was before the dive, then some strings may be in and some out. In other words, neck may be flexed or relieved more than it was before the dive.

2. Saddle/nut snag can be culprit.

3. This is just one of many issues you may be facing. If I look at my Axis (just example, I don't have that problem with this guitar)) where the plate rests on the body, it may be flush and level. If however I trem dive, and then look, one side of trem plate may be up a hair higher (leaving some strings still in tune and others not. After a few minutes the springs may push the trem plate to settle flush again.

Just food for thought as you analyze your situation.
