I picked up the bass 2-1/2 years ago. The first time I saw a MusicMan, I had it pictured as some cheapo bass made by the "string company." After more than a year of playing other models I bought a Sterling HS. Since then, I have not looked back. I find myself comparing every other bass to my Sterling and they are all left wanting.
I think my initial impression of MusicMan was due to multiple reasons. First of all the other brands I tried, and or bought, were highly advertised. The second was that I was looking at one of the Sub models and the black neck turned me off. The third was the unique headstock. The fourth was that I was ignorant and knew squat about basses and the only guitars I had ever heard of were Fender, Gibson and Martin. Now I find myself very attached to my Sterling!
