this got me thinking (slight hijack but valid i think!)
what do the serial numbers mean? is it systematic? does G stand for guitar? F for?
Does it relate to it being the number of the guitar made that month or anything similar?

I wish my ISP had a supply of HCSH. (And the telephone company...and the bank...and the...[insert least favourite service provider here]). I can't imagine any of those offering a 3 minute turn around!

I bleeb that the serial numbers do not run in any order (strict random order? )
and you would not be able to accurately date your guitar without the assistance of good ol' CS.

where can I find info about serial numbers, I mean how can I check other guitars?

There's no secret code or easy way to figure out what your guitar's DOB is by the serial number. EBMM just follows a "whatever plate is on top of the pile" method. They're not in a strict numerical order.

They do keep a database of all the sn's and DOB. You can post them in the "My Serial Number is:" thread, or you can start a new thread. Just title it "DOB please". The Customer Service folks will be glad to help you out.
