I've been looking at Hartke, Gallien Kruger, Mesa and Orange..mostly Mesa and Orange..
I've used mesa before and they just blew me away, but theres something about these orange amps/cabs that catches my eye ( maybe its the bright orange color on 'em..hmmm lol ), havent had a chance to try them out. a friend has one but its for guitars so, and he LOVES it. He has tried quite a few amps and says that nothing compares to it.
Any thoughts on Orange ?

p.s. I play various genres of music, I play from Metal ( Death Metal, Metalcore) to alternative, Indie and few other genres in between.. I also play at church

Thanks

Orange and Mesa make great gear but do yourself a favour and check out Genz-Benz. Outstanding amps and cabinets, especially when used in conjunction with any Ernie Ball StingRay, Bongo or Sterling bass.

I concur with the other reply. I just bought a Gentz Benz Shuttle Amp, really great with my Sterling 4H (for me and my needs, garage jam'n with some other over-the hill types) I tried one of the scout combo's by Mesa, excellent. I never have heard or played on a Orange. At the end its really a personal decsion, have fun.... probably didn't help did I?

Thats the thing.. Ive only been able to check out Mesa, I haven't met anyone else where I live ( Puerto Rico, there land where cool and awesome gear is not sold anywhere..except Music Man instruments ;) ) that has Orange bass amps/cabs or Genz-Benz.. heck I'd have to travel outside of the island to test out an Orange or a Genz Benz. But hey thx for the heads up I'll also keep Genz Benz in mind

Back in the '80's i had an Orange head and 4X12 and 1x15".
it was entirely reliable, GREAT sound, lots of spare volume and EQ.
I used it for rock gigs up to 1000, dinner gigs, experimental and sessions.
it was fantastic. I had the whole valve overload/distortion thing under the control of my fingertips....and this was with a '76 Precision!
No MM instrument then, but it is still the benchmark for my amps since then...different class completely

it did lengthen my arms somewhat... carrying it. Oh and it cost $280 then...oops

oh yeah, those orange amps n cabs are effin heavy, I've helped my friend loading and unloading it after gigs, I'd still sacrifice the length of my arms for it ;)
