Sorry for stepping outside the Musicman world now but I just found out that Mick Karn is seriously ill. He has recently been diagnosed with advanced stages of cancer. Sad news. A definate long time favorite of mine. There are not that many bass-players out there that has such a personal musical voice as Mick Karn. For those of you who are not familiar with his playing I can say that he has played with british art rock band Japan, Gary Numan, Kate Bush, Joan Armatrading, David Torn and others. More info here:

Mick Karn official home page

Hope all goes well for him. Again, sorry for stepping outside the Musicman sphere. Godspeed, Mick.

Sincerely//Jan

Devastatng news. Such a great ambassador for the bass. I.. just hope that with the help of his doctors it's not going to be too painful for him.

What else can I say that we aren't all thinking? It's frightening and I am gutted. :(

God bless.

Sorry for writing about non EBMM related things on the forum again.....

Sad news. Mick Karn passed away earlier today. He lost the battle against cancer. One of my all time favorite bass players. RIP Mick.

Mick, back in the 80's, was such an inspiration, and was the reason I purchased a Wal
Fretless.
