After reading Bills post about the pizza girl, I decided I'd make a post about what happened to me this weekend at a show I played. We were playing at a bar out on Long Island, NY. When we got to the place we parked our van in the back next to a HUGE RV/Trialer that belonged to one of the bands. They're name escapes me right now but whats important is that their bass player was an extremely attractive female. We got there just as they were getting started. The girl was using a F*nder jazz that she had custom done in Black Sparkle. Coincidentally, I had my Black Sparkle Ray with me. After they played their set my band started setting up and I pulled out my Ray. I felt a tap on my shoulder and there she was behind me. She absolutely loved my StingRay. After our set she said that she definately wanted to try and get an EBMM because I was cutting through so well live. Needless to say, I was feelin good that night. BP is a chick magnet, and his basses definately reflect that. :D

I'm 47 and very married. The only chicks my EBMM is likely to get me are these:

I know everyone here has to feel like more of a badass when they play their MM. It kind of comes with the territory. The ladies just take notice and theres nothing we can do about it :D

Bill can you read bass clef? I have Tom Sawyer in notation. Nothing really hard about it.
Although it is scary to think of trying to play like Geddy. :)

Bill, you can play Sawyer left handed!!

Now YYZ . . that's fun . . . & your HB loves it ;)
boost those mids :D

What's intimidating about Geddy is not the execution so much
as the invention, singing while playing, playing boards, pedals, etc.
and just making it appear so damn ez.
And in the vids I've seen, it appears his right hand technique rides
mostly on one finger? . . . awesome.

YYZ is a great tune :)

Geddy also rests his wrist on the bass (something I adopted while learning)
instead of holding your whole hand over the strings...

I really want to learn to read bass clef! That's something I'm gonna try to do soon. I can read treble clef fairly decently (being a fiddle player & all), but I'd like to try to attack the bass clef.

Same here Bill, being trained as a sax player and all, I didn't spend too much time down there. I need to brush up on the bass clef myself.
