As I was in Seattle on my North American Tour, I popped in to visit bdgotoh. We had a bit of fun visiting the local MM dealers.

Wow-wee-wow! A 6'er and fretless even:

We found that one at Bass NW. Sounded awesome and despite the imposing look of the neck, was a pleasure to play.

We stopped in at:

to look at vintage stuff and Bam!

Wonder Wipes!

Then we tripped on down to the GC.

None more black:

A nice HH SR5:

The Jeff Berlin combo. Very nice sound. Definitely on my list of combos to consider.

A couple of those skinny string things:

and Steinberger Brad on the same Magic SR:

Brad was running that thru the Jeff Berlin combo. Started twiddling the knobs and got a surprised look on his face. I was a bit quizical because the tone wasn't changing. Flipped it over, open the battery compartment and it was empty. So no preamp but got a signal out of it just fine. Go figure.

Enjoy!

That Stingray really surprised me, the signal was just as hot as any I've ever had and yet none of the tone knobs did anything. Most of my older Stingrays got super quiet when the battery died.

Every single MM bass we tried at GC had the tone knobs at max boost.

funny you should ask, Randy. Jobless and homeless so I've hit the road to visit everybody. I may be back in Cali in November. If I am I'll be getting in touch for a visit.

Currently in Kellogg Idaho heading to Yellowstone. After that, Mt Rushmore, The Badlands and Wall Drug. Feels good to be out visiting America.

It certainly was a beautiful day to be here.
Enjoy the drive east, been there done that, it's really pretty along the way.

Not much in Kellog, just find a bar and enjoy the night.

Tom, come through Paris, Texas and we'll go out to my piddly three acres, build a fire and tell lies about monster armadillos, etc. I have a guest room for you for a night or two.

Don't forget to snap a photo of that Jackalope at Wall Drug.

Sounds like the trip is going well. Hey, did you connect with the race car driver? Also, thanks for the note - that was nice.

we hung out friday night. Was a good night but couldn't stay out late because she had to drive in the morning. Oh, the pits of dating a race car driver.

Oh, the rough life.

t-bone, you and Brad need to get together and discuss the multiple uses of bbq grills.

that and fondle basses.

sorry I ate the last yogurt.

How was the gig?

Glad to hear about the race car driver. What's the next city you'll connect with her?

The gigs were great! I posted a pic of some of the girls fondling my basses. That's a road trip you would have enjoyed.

Sounds like you're having a great trip. Keep us all posted along the way. And for those of you who are putting him up.....take note, he'll eat your last yogurt. ;)

Ft. Worth, I think. Will be fun to spend some unhurried time with her.

That friday night, we went to Halibut II on Alberta. A blues duo played that night. Married couple. The woman was on vocals and harmonica. The guy was on guitar. Was a great surprise to catch a little live music.

That is one intimidating looking bass... Anyone cafe to give it the number 3? I seriously would have no idea where to start. Still trying to master the 4 sting! JOSH

I've never touched a 6 string before and was surprised when Tom asked them to get it down. He didn't have any trouble with it so I gave it a try.

It felt great and quite easy to play in spite of the extra strings and lack of frets - seriously!

I liked that bass and Tom's 4 string fretless H Bongo so much that I'm now on the prowl for a single H fretless Bongo.

Hey Tom, I was at these places this past summer. When at Rushmore, we really loved sylvan Lake and the needles hwy. highly recommended.

Rushmore was better than i thought it would be. Cost less than $1,000,000 to build!

Yellowstone is huge. Lake Yellowstone is beautiful, and lower falls were the highlights for me. Don't forget the tetons if you have a day extra in wyoming. They're spectacular also.

I got to Yellowstone in time to see Old Faithful.

Wyoming is some damn pretty country. Definitely would love to come back for another visit. Maybe do some camping and backpacking.

Currently in Buffalo, WY. Wish I had time for the Tetons but want to be in Winnipeg friday night. I went out the East Entrance and taking 16 east across Wyoming. Just a beautiful, beautiful drive.
