I am in the process of changing my new MM pick up with a Norstrand MM Pickup. Its a 2010 Stingray SLO 4 string I bought this year. I am not happy with the stock pickup. I had bought a 1994 Stingray from a pawn shop later this year and it has sooooooooo much bass mojo. The poles are rusty, theres nicks in the neck and small chucks missing from the body with gashes but it does not effect the sound at all. I love it, Its a relic.

All I did was replace the Tone/Volume plate and the Tuning keys. Its sounds better than any bass I ever had. Not knocking the the Ibanez BTB, The Spector Czech Series and the Warwick Corvette FNA 5 string. I have these basses all great basses but the older beat up SR4 is so awesome.

The problem I am having is with the new SR4. I don't know which pick up I need to get. The 4.2 or 4.3? It has a volume knob, Treble, Mid and Bass Knobs. No switch and no stackable knobs. Please someone tell me which one to get. Then later, depending how it sounds, I will get the Norstrand Pre-amp.

Thanks for the attention in advanced.

We don't discuss aftermarket bits on the official company forum.

Doesn't Nordstrand have a forum? That would be the ticket.

good luck,
