Okay so what's the difference between the S and SS besides the obvious lack of figured top and binding?

I could not find a Sport on the web site.

Are the still made?

The Sport had an ash body and the SSPT is basswood. The Sport had chrome tuners, the SSPT has pearloid. I have a Sport, and it is one of my favorite guitars.

Sadly the Sport has been discontinued now for at least 3-4 years. Sales were outpaced by the supersport.

The Axis sport had a 2 piece ash body available in standard bridge and Tremolo.

The SuperSport is basswood with maple top and binding ( Hum-Hum), and Ash/ Maple top- binding for the MM-90 version(Soapbars).

Although generally true there were some special Sports produced with pearloid tuners - my very rare Burnt Apple Sport with matching headstock being among them...

:D

Also, the only Axis you'll find with single coil pickups - not MM90s, but Strat-type single coils like on the Albert Lee or Silhouette Special, whether S/S/S or H/S/S configurations - are the Axis Sports...

Is it new?

BTW, Chuck Levin's (or just Chuck's, as we say) rules.
