ok...so today i took a trip to guitar center and purchased the 12 foot mogami platinum cable with the silent neutrik connectors. This cable is AMAZING...except for one thing....theres a little ring that helps the cable decipher when the guitar is plugged in or not thats loaded with a spring....and the spring keeps pushing the cable out of the jack just enough to unplug it...is my jack old and in need of replacement? or is the cables spring too tight somehow? Also, i noticed a lack in sustain with this cable...is this because the frets on my guitar (that are about 9 or 10 years old--an rg 570--) need to be replaced and the cable is pulling the true tone out of my guitar that the old cable couldnt pick up? or for other reasons? sorry for the kinda long post...
