Mono or Stereo Volume Pedal?

What are the advanatges of having a stereo volume pedal over having a mono pedal? What are some situations where you would need a stereo volume pedal?

The Stereo pedal can be used as a normal volume and can also pan between two signals.

For example if you had a guitar like my AL with Piezo you can run the mag pickups to say my Mesa and run the piezo to the AER and use the stereo pedal to pan between the two.

I don't personally use the stereo pedal but would like to get one.
