More 25th praise... (this is getting monotonous)

I had the privilege earlier tonight of finding a new flamed 25th at my local Guitar Center. I played without an amp for about 5 mins and I must admit that the shape didn't do much for me (I'm very used to playing only my JP). The neck, though, I felt was a very nice and easy shape from the very beginning. But once I plugged that thing in (Mesa 5:50 combo), WOW! it just SANG! The parallel setting gave it lots of shine and the series setting gave it muscle. What a guitar. I found myself suddenly not even noticing the shape and just playing away. I swear it was the most "professional" sounding guitar I've ever played... straight out the box into an amp! I didn't have to tweak it for a good tone on anything... every setting I put the thing on just sounded great. I think the settings+pickups are some of the best I've ever heard. It definitely had sustain and a fantastic clean sound in all settings. It had great balance, not too bright, not too beefy, and, again, I just felt like every setting made me sound like I had spent years perfecting my tone. Not to mention it looked pretty classy.

All you knuckleheads have been proved right again! Congrats on a great instrument, EBMM team!

Side note 1: Also played a Silo for the first time (I own a Silo Spec) and really liked it, although it's pretty bright.

Side note 2: Also saw a Mystic Dream JP up close and personal and the finish blew me away! I realized when I saw it that I had really only seen JP himself play them in concert and never saw one in a store and never knew anyone who had one... but up close the finish is unreal!

The 25th shape doesn't do it for me either, but in some way it just looks like it means some serious business... Can't wait to get my hands on one to see if my hunch is true or not.

Funny enough I tried a 25th yesterday myself at my local GC. It did sound phenomenal on all the settings. I didnt mind the shape other than it kept slipping away when I was sitting down. I just wish it had 10s on it. I cant freakin play with 9s anymore...I just end up all over the place and it seems like I forget how to play hahaha (not that I play any good anyway ). Besides the point the 25th is an absolutely wonderful instrument and I LOVE the switching and pickups. I could go from a nice fat lead tone or heavy rhythm to a nice clean tone with just using the controls from the guitar. I will certainly get me one of these in the future...I guess the regular production version of the 25th? I played it through the Blackstar HT5 and an Egnater Rebel20 which sounded great...the Rebel20 sounds bit better though.

It must have been restrung. They ship with 10s.

Interesting, because they certainly didnt feel like 10s to me. Either way, a great great guitar (still waiting for the BFR Silo Special though hehehe ).

I'm almost positive that the 25th ships with RPS 10s from EBMM.

EDIT: Yes, it does in fact come from the factory with RPS 10's confirmed via EBMM website

Yes, the one I played was definitely 10s. Felt great

And I forgot to add that the low E tuner was screwed somehow so it wouldn't stay in tune... so I fixed it I think someone probably couldnt figure out what the rear dial was for (locking tuners) and let the string slip out almost the entire way so it wouldnt grab... Solved that one.

Yes they come with 10s.
I broke a string on mine last week and put 9s on just to see how it would feel and sound. I am going back to 10s.

First time I've used those strings. I really like them.
I'm use to Slinkys otherwise.

Roubster, I played that same guitar about a month ago. I want to take my hardtail axis to A/B them, but I'm super lazy about that.

I know huh 24th? The axe handles gain very well, but man, parallel mode for cleans is PRISTINE. Not even hyperbole nor exaggeration from a buyers initial reaction. It's almost been 3 weeks now and the guitar is surpassed every expectation.

Running it through a clean fender tube amp, with some wonderful over drives and fuzz's. AWESOME
