Got a serious blister on my thumb - it's been a LONG time since I've done any serious plucking. Those who play this one (the way Mark does) will know how much the thumb gets used on the 1st / 2nd strings in the climax of the solo.

Hope the vid provided a good demo of yet another face of the legendary Silhouette.

I love that guitar to death.......... if you don't have one, get one.

Yep MK is awesome, such great feel and all of his music is excellent.

Sultans of Swing is the song responsible for me becoming obsessed with the guitar as a kid.

As a 4 or 5 yr old, when they released the first album, I first heard it on my dad's sytem - he'd just bought the cassette.

I remember they had some friends over, and he got them in - telling them to listen to the "Magic Guitar". As a kid, I didn't realise he meant "excellent / cool / great" etc etc etc.

To me, he meant a MAGIC guitar.

My oldies have pics of me asleep on the lounge with headphones on listening to it - apparently I used to live in that room after I heard MK.

It wasn't until a fair while later that I got a guitar - they did take me to a teacher as a 5 yr old, but he told them to wait until my hands got bigger.

Whilst that song is responsible for the initial obsession, EBMM guitars are responsible for re-igniting it (Nov 2006) after 10+ years of not playing at all.

And the Silo is my #1.

My favourite MK solo is Tunnel Of Love, after I got through with Sultans I heard the Making Movies LP, and that outro solo on Tunnel was absolute genius to my ears, I love the tone and note choice and how it builds up, its SO melodic. What a master MK is.
