Bare with me on this thread, its all about EBMM!

Well, its been a strange few months of waiting around for a *ahem* certain bass, as well as having some actual EBMMs enter my collection.

As it stands, all of my basses bar one are EBMM.

The *ahem* other brand I had on order had some problems, and basically I cant be bothered with their new prices, consistent problems with QC, etc.

So, why this thread?

Well, it means another EBMM is coming into the fold. Nothing, even at higher price points, starts to touch the quality of an EBMM.

My quandry is this...

I want a nice 2 band Ray, and a 5 HH Bongo.

As the *ahem* other brand bass has been cancelled, all the money has come back to me. I COULD if I work my socks off, with music and normal day job, order a standard 2 band 4 banger in natural/maple/white pup (YUM!) and also get a Bongo...

One is in stock, the other wouldnt need the balance for 4 months...

This is hard work haha, totally addictive!

Do I need a Bongo? STUPID QUESTION ALERT.

The Bongo is the greatest bass that has ever been produced. Yes, you need a Bongo.

Me too, just slightly different: one 2 band Classic 5 in natural finish and one Bongo 5 Hp in crazy color! :)
Just had a conversation with my dealer yesterday about that :p when testing nice cute small bass combo from Carvin (MB 12 model).
I tried it with Classic 5 SR, black with birds eye maple neck/board, ...beautiful look and tone! So simple bass to operate with just 3 knobs! ;)
Love at first sight/play/touch... :)

Yes of course you Need a BONGO...

HOWEVER...The Classic Ray - Something about it. If you haven't tried one, you don't know you'd be guessing, and really missing a huge possible boat headed straight to Tone Beach. The Natural Ones are stupid lightweight.

It's holding up my own decision making process similar to yours

I sure like those Bongos. I'm afraid if I buy one the other kids will never see the light of day.

A bongo 5 is awesome but lets present some facts why it rules
The EQ with the low mid & lows let you control that B string volume very well so it sits in the mix EXACTLY as you want it to. I find sometimes the B can be too much or too little on some basses & the EQ doesn't really change it. I love that the Bongo gives me the flexbility to put that low B at a volume that suits what I'm playing

Need? No, that's way too dramatic!

Will your bass-playing life be forever changed to the highest-pleasure degree, while receiving tone from the Heavens while playing a Bongo?

Yes, of course it will.

OK +1 all the Bongoloids [being a double Boinger m'selves .... ]

But mention is also made of the SR Classic, and I have tried it,
just in the shop, and I am impressed. The difference is plainly
audible vs "ordinary" SR's. However, for those inneressed in a
Classic I wanna point out that one can, with reasonable dilly
gents, still acquire an SR30 if 4 strings is enuf 4yez. But, this
window is bound to narrow and then close. And OK they're all
the same not-too-subtle color ... altho one CAN differentiate
one's own 30th via a new PG.

IIRC BP pronounced it the "best SR we ever made". Sucker
that I be for mahogany, I can't help but agree ... altho I do
consider my SR4Hp easily as tonally luvvible, and acoarst a
lot less shocking to the eyes.

Anywaze, that brings up the "p" thang. Which, coming full
circle, is even more wondrous, more tranformative, on the
Boingo than on the SR. One post above does render props
to the Boingo "p" option, but that post is sorely lacking in
the emphatic empathetics dept.

So let me be demostrably empatically emphatic rath cheer:

just happen to be "BP" ? I'm sure thaz not accidental ! !
