I may be wrong, but I think rosewood boards did exist in 1985. The bass doens't look like a '85 model though. Indeed, it hasn't any string mutes. The headstock decal is also too modern to be a 1985. I guess there are a lot of more optical things that show it's not a 1985 bass.

He states in the auction that it's a maple board while we can all tell by the pic it's not. Whether RW was around back then isn't the point.

I live in Maryland (Nottingham is 5 minutes from my house), so I dropped the seller the old "if I win, can I pick it up in person and give you the money in person" line. We will see how they respond.

I don't doubt that he has the bass to sell. I just doubt he knows what the hell he is selling. Someone needs to message the sum bitch.

I have yet to hear back from the seller regarding this bass. Oh well, perhaps it is not a legit sale? I thought that maybe I could pick it up cheap and throw a toothless neck on it...
