So far I like it more on the Ray than on the Sterling. I'd love to see a FM Bongo though.

This was a color combo that EB displayed at the Summer NAMM 08, we I saw it I had to have one for our store. (Plus James loves “orange/maple” basses so I could have ordered a hundred and he would not have cared.) ;)

Also, thank you guys so must for all of the great feedback on our pictures. Our photo team works very hard to provide you guys with accurate representations of the instruments that are available for you.

I agree, those pictures at The Perfect Bass are really great. Not do they only show the basses well, I am sure they help you guys sell a few as well (me being guilty of one!).

Recently I have taken more interest in that color. Does anyone have pics of a Desert gold (DG) bass next to a Firemist? Lighting would be key since the Desert Gold has that overshot that color changes in bright light (I wonder if that is the same stuff they shot over the dargie II). In darker light my DG bongo looks more like the Orange Firemist. Maybe the same color but the DG gets that gold overspray??

No picts of them side by side but I have owned both. DG is lighter and brighter. It also tended to shift a little more under certain lights. OFM is a little sparklier but isn't as warm as DG and doesn't shift too much. Both are great colors though. (I miss my DG Bongo 5)
