Hello,

I had a post about a week ago with a crapload of questions and about half of them got answered before it turned into an Olympic hockey thread. I thank everyone that answered my questions but I still have a couple. If I order a bass, can I request black knobs? I've seen black knobs on a number of basses and I'd much prefer them to chrome. Secondly, does the Radiance Red finish come with a black headstock by default? Can a black headstock be ordered for any bass or only matching? Any answers would be appreciated. I'm enjoying reading this forum and all the pics are making me drool. Can't wait for my damn tax refund and I can't choose a finish for the life of me...

Best,
The Goat

Black knobs come on all Bongos, and some SR5's, not sure what color combo SR5 you have to order though to get them. Originally when Radiance Red was offered it was a limited edition with a Black headstock. However, now if you order one it comes with a regular or matching RR headstock.

Choices for headstock colors are only matching or plain.

radience red USED TO be a limited edition color. at that time, the headstock was black. RAD Red and since gone into the standard color lineup and now the headstock options are matching or natural ...

I think all basses except the bongo come with the chrome knobs ... enver heard of black as an option for the SRs or the Sterlings

OK Listen I love to tweak our beloved northern brothers....there was one jab at the hockey...it was a joke......your really let me down by not responding about Canada's stunning upset victory over the US in baseball. what a setup I left you!

Black knobs only come with certain combinations. The problem is that if we get down to knob coices it adds about 5,000 more product numbers. We are over 70,000 combinations....AAARGH!

Big Poppa, can we just take it up to 70,006 (lefty Sterling H/H and H/S and SR4 H/H and H/S and SR5 H/H and H/S)?

I need more basses BP, and only you can build them.:D

Adam was told by God to go forth and multiply. God got pretty exasperated when he turned around and found us exponentiating.

Combinations don't just add, they multiply. Now you can get a sense of BP's frustration. ;)

Hey BP, I wasn't sure if you were making fun of the hockey situation so I assumed that perhaps, like myself, you hadn't paid any attention to the olympics and actually didn't know. Had I known you were getting a swift one in there, I'd have busted you (though maybe not on the baseball cause I didn't pay attention to that either) haha. I can appreciate that you can't offer every combination known to man and I must say that I love the choices that you do offer. My questions were answered so I'm grateful. Sadly, I'm still nowhere closer to choosing a combination for my new order...

As a parting note, this is a national secret and I'd be maimed for giving it away but our Prime Minister ordered the Canadian team to throw the olympics and not take the gold this year in an effort to keep off the US radar. If Bush so much as turns his head to the North, he might get a whiff of all this oil we're sitting on and we'd be in prison camps in no time. Thanks for the answers gents!

I "do" get what BP says, I know we lefty's are a small, pain in the a$$, slice of the market. But, EBMM is our only source of quality, industry standard basses. Even F@nd@r builds their lefty's in the "custom shop" now, and we all know what BP says about that... and he friggin right by the way!

I for one love EBMM basses and the only other basses a lefty can buy is either some high end one off (I have several) or some cardboard import. I personally thank Sterling for his efforts in supplying us leftys with killer basses, but I want to be like Phatty and sleep at night knowing there is an H/S Sterling hanging on the wall.... when I need it!

Sorry, but the love is deep!

Oh, that's right! You guys have a bunch of oil-infused dirt & rock, right? (or was it sandy soil?) I saw that on TV. It's amazing that the oil can be harvested from that soil. I'd love it if our big oil $$ went to you Canadian folks rather than the current suppliers. But this is fodder for another forum.
