The Dirnt was a fine little P bass, but, in the end, it was still a P bass and I have to admit it - me no play P bass no mo'.

I tried and it was the best one I've had in a long time, but....'twas no Bongo. Ray Duke has it and gives it the love it deserves.

BTW, I weighed the above lovely Stingray and it comes in at 10.4 pounds.

Anyone?

Don't make me eBay the poor thing.

Trust me Jack, if I had a car I would most certainly buy that there bass from you. However, I need mobility more than I need a bass. But I tell you what, once I get a car you will most certainly be hearing from me! Yes sir indeed!

Okay, first, BIG POPPA, IF I sell this bad boy, I WILL buy yet another Bongo, okay?

Or maybe a dual pickup Sterling or something.

Even if I do have a Fender poster.

I got this a few weeks ago from Tom F and it really is one of the best Stingrays I've ever played, EVEN WITH ROUNDWOUNDS. Yes, I liked it so much that I've gone insane and left the Slinkys on it! Ray Duke agrees and thinks I'm nuts for even considering selling this one, but it's just too heavy for me.

Yes, I'm telling you up front - it's a heavy beast. I haven't weighed it yet, but will do so tonight and add the information, but this is not for the faint of heart or the weak of shoulder.

I played it with the band last night for about an hour and they loved it ("Look! It's not a Bongo!") but I'm old and it's just too heavy for me.

It's in great shape. Like new, even (except it's not). It would look fabulous with a moonstone guard, of course. Comes with an SKB case.

After hearing it in a band situation, I would keep it if it were just a bit lighter, but hey, I'm a girly man and you're not.

I am also open to trades, but mostly only maybe a Bongo in a configuration I don't have (single humbucker, hummer-single coil).

This is, however new it looks, a used bass and also one of my personal basses, so I am willing (IF I KNOW YOU) to take on the additional headache of shipping to you danged old foreigners.

850 shipped in the continental USA, we'll have to talk if shipped to some foreign clime.

Jack

I Agree Heavy Stingrays are for Kids Saying Look, i can still lift weights, For me it is and will be always 8 pounds or less. DJ

Jack, are you saying you want me to bring my basses over and pay you for the privilege of weighing my basses? If so, you are a brilliant business man.

Brilliant!

I am really curious now, I almost bought a scale for 10 bucks at Fry's about an hour ago. Then I thought about how I could have spent my friday night weighing all sorts of things! (man, I need some friends :p ) Sad how things like this get can get stuck on the brain.

I bought one of those little digital scales off eBay a while back and it's just so danged nifty. I weigh everything now. Neighorhood cats, when I can catch them, basses, an electric shaver........

Blame BP for influencing me to purchase Ketel 1. I still enjoy Ciroc when he's not looking, like right now.

So you guys are going to make me ebay this purdy Stingray, aren't you?

And I thought we were buddies.
